People think sci fi films started in the 1950s, but sci fi, fantasy and horror films have been made since the very first films were ever produced, back in the 1890s and 1900s.
Yet, without these sci fi films of the 50s, we would never have seen the modern rise of the genre in the film industry, because ultimately, everything made in Hollywood is a remake of something...Hollywood has no guts to make anything actually new.
