E.J. Gold's Galaxy Ezine: Science Fiction, Fantasy . . .
Here's a story about our science editor, Willy Ley, who had been a member of the Verein fur Rahmshiffahrt, and had left Germany when Hitler came into power. He was a true rocket scientist, but had a background in many different scientific disciplines, as did Isaac (Ike) Asimov. Willy was a frequent visitor to our Stuyvesant Town apartment in NYC during the heyday of Galaxy, from 1950-1960.
