The Bowery Boys made Spook Busters and Ghost Chasers in the 1940s -- clearly they made quite an impression on later filmmakers who combined the two titles into Ghost Busters. Leo Gorcey's dad, Bernard, plays Louie. After Bernard passed from injuries sustained in an auto accident, Leo left the series, which ran all the way to 1958. As ghost films go, these films were among the best of their day.
